“My grandmother was a women’s fashion designer from the late 40s to the 60s and I have always been inspired by what she created in her career (the dress I’m wearing was made by her). I love old music too; from musicals and 50s rockabilly to 60s garage and punk to new wave - all those influences affect my style.

I think we’ve lost the ability to treasure things. People once took pride in their appearance - the fashions for women were pretty, flattering and feminine and men would never be seen in the office with comedy ties… You’d never catch a 50s housewife nipping to the shops in PJ’s and Uggs!”
